Description:
Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma is a nuclear receptor which regulates adipose differentiation and glucose homeostasis. It acts through ligand-dependent transcriptional activation of target genes. This gene is one of the targets of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma and encodes an angiopoietin-like secreted glycoprotein. This gene also has been referred to as ANGPTL2, although a different gene exists with that same designation. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
