Description:
The protein encoded by this gene is the human ortholog of bovine and rat dipeptidylpeptidase VI. They are transmembrane proteins and likely members of the dipeptidyl aminopeptidase family. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified in all 3 species. In bovine and rat, the longer form has been shown to be expressed almost exclusively in brain, whereas the shorter form has a more widespread expression.
