Description:
This gene was isolated using a selection system for genes encoding nuclear-targeted proteins. The gene product contains a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain and a coiled-coil region. PH domains occurs in a wide range of proteins involved in intracellular signaling. The domain family represents multiple functions and PH domains have been found to possess inserted domains and to be inserted within other domains. Alternative splicing occurs at this gene locus and two variants, encoding distinct isoforms, have been described. Additional splicing has been observed but the full-length nature of these variants has not been determined.
