There is a relationship between adalimumab concentration and clinical response obtained after 6 month of treatment. Furthermore adalimumab concentration measured 3 months after initiation seems to predict the clinical response at 6 months.\n\nThere is an important inter individual pharmacokinetic variability of adalimumab. Side effects may occur at the recommended dose and more than 3 months of treatment are generally required to estimate the clinical response.\n\nA therapeutic drug monitoring could help clinicians to early adjust the dose to optimize the response and to avoid dose related side effects. To date there is no definite adalimumab target concentration predictive of the clinical response to allow such a pharmacologic monitoring.'}, 'eligibilityModule': {'sex': 'ALL', 'stdAges': ['ADULT', 'OLDER_ADULT'], 'minimumAge': '18 Years', 'healthyVolunteers': False, 'eligibilityCriteria': 'Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* RA according to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 1987 criteria\n* Treatment with Adalimumab has been chosen by the physician / patient\n* Treatment given in accordance to the SPC\n* Stable Disease modifying anti rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and glucocorticoids 4 weeks before enrollment and during the study period.\n* Signed consent\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* more than one previous treatment with anti TNF-alpha\n* Past history of malignancy, AIDS\n* Pregnancy\n* Change in DMARDS or glucocorticoid dose 4 weeks before entering the study\n* Active or latent tuberculosis, other active infections\n* Surgery scheduled during the study period'}, 'identificationModule': {'nctId': 'NCT01382160', 'acronym': 'AFORA', 'briefTitle': 'Serum Concentration of Adalimumab as a Predictive Factor of Clinical Outcomes in Rheumatoid Arthritis (AFORA)', 'organization': {'class': 'OTHER', 'fullName': 'University Hospital, Tours'}, 'officialTitle': 'Serum Concentration of Adalimumab (Humira) as a Predictive Factor of Clinical Outcomes in Rheumatoid Arthritis (AFORA)', 'orgStudyIdInfo': {'id': 'PHRI10-DM/AFORA'}, 'secondaryIdInfos': [{'id': '2010-021449-28', 'type': 'EUDRACT_NUMBER'}, {'id': 'A100898-30', 'type': 'OTHER', 'domain': 'Afssaps'}, {'id': '2010-R24', 'type': 'OTHER', 'domain': 'CPP'}]}, 'armsInterventionsModule': {'armGroups': [{'type': 'EXPERIMENTAL', 'label': 'adalimumab', 'description': '40 mg every two weeks, by subcutaneous way', 'interventionNames': ['Biological: adalimumab']}], 'interventions': [{'name': 'adalimumab', 'type': 'BIOLOGICAL', 'otherNames': ['Humira'], 'description': '40 mg every two weeks, by subcutaneous way', 'armGroupLabels': ['adalimumab']}]}, 'contactsLocationsModule': {'locations': [{'city': 'Brest', 'country': 'France', 'facility': 'CHRU de Brest', 'geoPoint': {'lat': 48.39029, 'lon': -4.48628}}, {'city': 'Le Mans', 'country': 'France', 'facility': 'CHR du Mans', 'geoPoint': {'lat': 48.0021, 'lon': 0.20251}}, {'city': 'Nantes', 'country': 'France', 'facility': 'CHRU de Nantes', 'geoPoint': {'lat': 47.21725, 'lon': -1.55336}}, {'city': 'Orléans', 'country': 'France', 'facility': "CHR d'Orléans", 'geoPoint': {'lat': 47.90248, 'lon': 1.90407}}, {'city': 'Poitiers', 'country': 'France', 'facility': 'CHRU de Poitiers', 'geoPoint': {'lat': 46.58261, 'lon': 0.34348}}, {'city': 'Rennes', 'country': 'France', 'facility': 'CHRU de Rennes', 'geoPoint': {'lat': 48.11109, 'lon': -1.67431}}, {'city': 'Tours', 'country': 'France', 'facility': 'CHRU de Tours', 'geoPoint': {'lat': 47.39484, 'lon': 0.70398}}], 'overallOfficials': [{'name': 'Denis MULLEMAN, MD, PhD', 'role': 'PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR', 'affiliation': 'CHRU de Tours'}]}, 'sponsorCollaboratorsModule': {'leadSponsor': {'name': 'University Hospital, Tours', 'class': 'OTHER'}, 'responsibleParty': {'type': 'SPONSOR'}}}}
