Brief Summary: The aim of this study was to assess the long-term metabolic effects of gestational exercise on overweight and obese women and their offspring 8-10 years post-intervention.
Detailed Description: We conducted a follow-up study of a randomized controlled trial (RCT) in which the impact of prenatal exercise on the incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) was investigated. Mother-offspring pairs underwent comprehensive metabolic evaluations, including anthropometric measurements (weight, skinfold thickness, and body composition), blood pressure assessment, oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTTs), insulin release tests (IRTs), and lipid profiling.
