* unilateral primary reducible inguinal hernia
* elective operation
* consent to participate in the study.
Exclusion Criteria:
* age \<18 years
* irreducible
* strangulated
* recurrent hernia
* inability to understand the questionnaire
* unwillingness to participate in the study
