Inclusion Criteria:
* Cancer patients with controlled hypertension and undergoing surgical procedures under general anesthesia
* ≥ Age 18 years.
Exclusion Criteria:
* patient refusal
* patients on Beta blockers
* kidney or liver function impairment
* bradycardia, any degree of heart block and severe cardiorespiratory disease
