* Male
* Age 30-70 years referred to hospital with a primary inguinal hernia.
Exclusion Criteria:
* Recurrent hernia
* Scrotal or bilateral hernia
* Previous lower abdominal surgery
* Unable to participate in follow up
* ASA more than 3
* Bleeding diathesis.
