* Type 2 diabetes diagnosed after 30 years of age
* BMI \> 25
Exclusion Criteria:
* Severe complications to diabetes
* Abnormal liver and kidney function
* Haemoglobin below the lower limit
* Macroalbuminuria
* Systemic disease
* Pregnancy
