* All patients above 12 years of age undergoing midline abdominal fascial closure using a continuous technique in the Department of Surgery, Christian Medical College and Hospital
Exclusion Criteria:
* All patients under 12 years of age
* Gynaecological operations
* Abdominal wall hernia repair
