* Patients who have been admitted and diagnosed as having acute appendicitis
Exclusion Criteria:
* Patients under the age of 18 years.
* Pregnancy.
* Uncooperative patients (senile dementia, mentally ill).
* Not speaking Danish.
* Does not wish to participate.
