Inclusion Criteria:
1. age \> 18 years,
2. SOFA score ≥ 2
3. at least three prealbumin data points within the previous 14 days.
Exclusion Criteria:
1. patients with liver failure
2. patients with kidney failure,
3. hereditary amyloidosis and Alzheimer's disease
4. long-term use of hormones or NSAIDs. -
