Inclusion Criteria:
* Patients with type 2 DM diagnosed based on American Diabetes Association criteria.
Exclusion Criteria:
* Patients with type 1 DM or other types of diabetes.
* Patients with complications of acute DM.
* Pregnant females.
* Malignancy.
* BMI \> 35 kg/m²
* Major co-morbidities as end-stage renal disease or liver cell failure.
* Patients on lipid lowering therapy.
* Patients on vitamin D supplementation.
