* type 2 diabetic
* regardless of diabetes duration and retinopathy severity level
* one or both eyes with CSME
Exclusion Criteria:
* media opacities that prevented an adequate fast macular map from being acquired
* a thickened posterior vitreous
* any additional retinal disease
