* American Society of Anaesthesiology (ASA) І and П scheduled for inguinal hernia repair
Exclusion Criteria:
* sensitivity to dexmedetomidine or midazolam,
* infection of the upper respiratory tract,
* severe liver or kidney disease, organ dysfunction,
* cardiac arrhythmia or congenital heart disease
