• adult women
Substudy 2:
• postmenopausal women with an incident hip fracture
Substudy 3:
• postmenopausal women with osteoporosis
Exclusion Criteria:
* secondary osteoporosis
* any disease that could affect muscle and/or bone metabolism
* any medication that could affect muscle and/or bone metabolism
