Inclusion Criteria:
* Patients scheduled for hip arthroplasty
Exclusion Criteria:
* allergy to local anesthetics
* infection at the injection site
* patients receiving opioids for chronic analgesic therapy
* other lower limb neuropathies
* inability to comprehend visual analog scale (VAS)
* preexist cognitive dysfunction
