* patients scheduled for total knee replacement surgery.
Exclusion Criteria:
* refusal to study,
* coagulation disorder,
* infection at the puncture site,
* preexisting neuropathy,
* allergy to local anesthetics,
* renal or hepatocellular insufficiency,
* context of chronic pain,
* drugs abuse,
* pregnant patient.
