* history of allergy symptoms during previous birch pollen season
* positive skin prick test to birch pollen extract
Exclusion Criteria:
* pregnancy
* uncontrolled asthma
* other significant clinical conditions or immune disorders
* subjects taking antihistamines or drugs with antihistamine activity
