* Adult patients (aged ≥18 years)
* Symptomatic aSDH needing operative treatment via craniotomy or craniectomy
* Informed consent
Exclusion Criteria:
* Patients with infaust prognosis
* Asymptomatic patients with conservative treatment
* aSDH as a secondary diagnosis
* Concurrent enrollment in any other trial
