Inclusion Criteria:
* subjective symptoms indicative of dry eye
Exclusion Criteria:
* Diabetes
* Sjögren's Syndrome
* recent ocular infection
* hay fever
* used any eye drops or ocular medications,
* were currently on medications known to affect the eyes
* wore contact lenses
* were pregnant.
