Inclusion Criteria:
* complete edentulism for at least one year;
* desire to receive a pair of new conventional complete dentures
* mental receptiveness;
* good understanding of spoken Portuguese
Exclusion Criteria:
* disorders of the masticatory system;
* pathological changes of residual ridges;
* debilitating systemic diseases.
