Adverse Events Module

Adverse Events Module

For researchers submitting trial data to ClinicalTrials.gov, the Adverse Events module is one of four mandatory results sections. It requires reporting in three primary categories: All-Cause Mortality: A table tracking all deaths that occurred during the study, regardless of cause. Serious Adverse Events (SAEs): A tabular summary of events resulting in death, life-threatening conditions, hospitalization, or significant disability. Other Adverse Events: A table for non-serious events that exceed a specific frequency threshold, such as 5% within any study arm.

Adverse Events Module path is as follows:

Study -> Results Section -> Adverse Events Module -> Event Groups

Study -> Results Section -> Adverse Events Module -> Serious Events

Study -> Results Section -> Adverse Events Module -> Other Events

Title Description Deaths # Affected Deaths # At Risk Serious # Affected Serious # At Risk Other # Affected Other # At Risk View
Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass The group of morbidly obese patients assigned to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass: Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) is an intermediate (restrictive and malabsorptive) operation. RYGB involves creation of a 15-20 mL gastric pouch that is anastomosed to a 100cm Roux limb created at 100cm from the ligament of Treitz. None None 0 36 6 36 View
Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy The group of morbidly obese patients assigned to laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy: Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) is a restrictive bariatric procedure. LSG involves resection of a large part of the body and fundus of the stomach starting from the antrum up to the angle of His. The remaining part of the stomach (the gastric sleeve) is calibrated with a 36 French bougie. None None 3 36 3 36 View
